CampusLIVE is a student homepage, founded as "ZooMassLinks" in 2006 by former UMass Amherst student Jared Stenquist. Seeing the need for a centralized student homepage on campus, Jared bought a giant tarp and wrote www.zoomasslinks.com on the front. Two days later, with the banner hanging prominently on the parking garage, the whole campus was talking.

ZooMassLinks needed some direction and Jared needed someone with the skills to help market his new creation. That's when he met floor-mate and current Isenberg School of Business graduate Jeff Cassidy. Together they created a new interface for ZooMassLinks, re-branded the UMass Amherst project as CampusLIVE and began expanding to other schools.

First came Plymouth State, a small school of 4,000 in New Hampshire. Chosen to demonstrate the ability of CampusLIVE to integrate into the culture of any school and become a destination website on campus almost overnight. Popularity was growing at both schools in the CampusLIVE network, but Jared and Jeff were becoming increasingly aware that re-building the entire website for every new school was becoming an impossible task. They needed a scalable system and the ability for a student to completely customize their own pages.

About the same time, UMass Amherst student and programmer Boris Revsin was searching for web development talent in the area. Working for a consulting company attached to Mitt Romney's 2008 campaign, Boris was charged with finding an able graphic and interface designer to work on an important project for the campaign. Boris found Jared's web design portfolio and recognized a very important link inside: CampusLIVE.com. He had found the perfect candidate for the design position, but he had also found what was to become his most important challenge yet: turning CampusLIVE from a collection of multiple websites into a dynamic and modular system for launching homepages across the country.

CampusLIVE plans to continue expanding across the US until every student can enjoy this great resource.
