What brought you to CampusLIVE?
I attended UMass with co-founders Boris Revsin and Jared Stenquist. Shortly after the site went live I decided to help out and turn this dorm room project into a business. The passion and excitement around working at a start up in college kept me going. I am sure most business-minded students would have the same ambition, especially after seeing what Facebook is accomplishing.
Do you have any favorite stories from your work life?
The best story would have to be sleeping in the office for seven months prior to raising our Seed Round. Right after graduating in 2009 the six of us decided to go all in with CampusLIVE. I slept on a Coleman aero mattress at the foot of my desk, and probably the easiest commute to work I have had so far. We all know now how the rest of the story goes.
What does the typical day look like for you?
Every day is different, which is part of the fun. I am constantly researching and tracking down new business opportunities in order to expand CampusLIVE's capabilities.
Why do you come to work in the morning?
I know that we have a great business model that is growing fast with a very talented team behind it. I think waking up knowing that would get anyone out of bed in the morning.
What lessons has your work life taught you?
You have to keep learning even after college, but there is no one teaching you. Working at a startup requires constant personal education. Whether it is learning from advisors or co-workers, reading, or learning from mistakes you have to make sure that you are giving yourself the tools to make right decisions in every aspect of the business.
What is the best part of working at CampusLIVE?
Seeing your passionate, hard work come to life and have a direct impact on the trajectory of a venture-funded company
What's the coolest thing you've accomplished thus far working at CampusLIVE?
Brought on the United States Marine Corps as a partner by selling into a top New York ad agency while still a college student.
